Yachting
As essential predictors of course and condition, no sailor would venture out to sea without a reliable timepiece, compass, and barometer. For centuries, time at sea has been recognized by the count of the ship's bells, a four hour bell system to indicate a change of work shift known as the “Sailor’s Watch.”
Since 1900, the Ship's Bell Clock has taken the honorable role of maintaining the bells aboard ships of the U.S. Navy and some of the finest yachts including those owned by J.P. Morgan, Henry Clay Pierce, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and Aristotle Onassis.
Whether presented as a race trophy or recognition award, each Chelsea timepiece can be customized for the event or the individual. Customized engraving can be applied to dials and cases, as well as detailed multi-color dial applications. We offer price discounts for orders in quantities of 6 or more.
